Product Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
Life-cycle assessment or life cycle assessment (LCA, also known as life-cycle analysis) is a methodology for assessing environmental impacts associated with all the stages of the life-cycle of a commercial product, process, or service.

LCA study involves a thorough inventory of the energy and materials that are required across the industry value chain of the product, process or service, and calculates the corresponding emissions to the environment. LCA thus assesses cumulative potential environmental impacts. The aim is to document and improve the overall environmental profile of the product.

Stages of Aluminium Alloy Wheel Life Cycle Assessment
STAGE 1:
A) Raw Material & Components extraction from Earth core
B) Separation of Casting quality Aluminium & Ingots Preparation
C) Ingot Transportation to Company
STAGE 2:
A) Purchase of Ingots & Manufacturing of castings
B) Consumption of Oil/Coolant, Electricity, LPG, Diesel, FO.
C) Painting of wheels & Disposal of Haz. Waste – Paint Sludge, Empty Tins, etc.
STAGE 3:
A) Purchase of Corrugated Boxes for packing
B) Transportation / Logistics of Wheels to Customer Assembly plant
C) Wheels Assembled Vehicles driven out from OEM’s
STAGE 4:
A) Transportation of Vehicles to dealers & Purchase of vehicle by owner
B) Owner usage of Vehicle with fuel consumption & regular maintenance
C) At ELV (End Life of Vehicle), Vehicle scrap to Authorized Scrap dealer
STAGE 5:
A) Segregation of Vehicle parts by Scrap dealer w.r.t. material (Plastic, Rubber, Foam, etc)
B) Segregated used Aluminium Alloy wheels keep ready for remelting
C) Send to authorized Secondary aluminium remelter & achieve 100% Recyclability with reference to its extraction from earth core.
